White Label Barossa Valley Shiraz
Wine
Woods Crampton White Label Barossa Valley Shiraz draws from several old vineyards on the Barossa's cooler eastern slopes. It blends Shiraz with small portions of Mataro, Graciano and the Spanish variety Bonvedro.
The fruit is chilled overnight, mostly destemmed and cold soaked for five days. It is then open fermented with a small whole bunch inclusion, receiving twice daily hand plunging.
The wine then matures in oak, primarily French with some American. Overall, typically one third new French oak is used. Bottling occurs without fining and only minimal filtration.
Deep purple, Woods Crampton White Label Barossa Valley Shiraz has spicy, dark berry flavours with fine tannins and fresh acidity. Cellaring potential is five years.
